STEP – Student Trainee Exchange Programme
STEP is an internship program that provides law students and young lawyers with legally related and paid internships throughout Europe. This gives ELSA members the opportunity to gain cross-border practical experience, get to know foreign cultures and take a look beyond their legal horizons.
Internships can last between two weeks and two years.
STEP internships can be completed in all legal fields: Law firms, courts, public institutions, authorities, banks, legal departments, consulting firms or international organisations.
STEP internships are advertised twice a year. You can apply for up to three different positions per application phase. Just take a look at the STEP homepage to see which positions are currently available and when the next vacancies will be published.
ELSA supports the trainees in the preparation of the internship, e.g. in the search for accommodation or the necessary formalities. During the internship it is important to experience the country, the people and the culture through a direct integration into the ELSA life on site.
